What Is MailEnable?

Mail Enable is a Microsoft-based email client that delivers a tightly integrated hosted messaging service. Between the client and the server, SSL establishes a secure connection. It can securely send any amount of data. As a result, MailEnable with SSL adds an extra layer of privacy and security to the process of transferring data over the internet.

For the email client, however, only one SSL certificate can be established for a domain on the server. Because there is just one certificate for the domain, all SMTP, POP, and IMAP services utilise the same certificate. We must always purchase and install a wildcard SSL when purchasing and installing SSL.

MailEnable SSL Is Not Working. Here is How We Solve This Issue

Wesbytes has more than a decade of server management experience. Many clients have asked us to enable SSL in MailEnable.

Many customers recently asked us to enable SSL in this email client in order to secure their emails. So, let’s take a look at how to enable MailEnable SSL using the instructions below:

  1. Firstly, we use RDP to connect to the server.
  2. Then, under MailEnable Management > Servers > localhost > Services and Connectors, we opened MailEnableAdmin and followed the path below.
  3. After that, we use the right-click menu to select IMAP.
  4. Then we go to the Settings tab in the Properties window. Require SSL is checked here, and the settings are applied.
  5. Then I did a right-click on SMTP. After that, we click Properties, go to the Inbound page, check the box that says Allow clients to create secure sessions through STARTTLS, and save the changes.
  6. Finally, we use the Plesk services management utility in the system tray to restart the IMAP and SMTP services.

In the MailEnable, SSL is now enabled.
