Outlook/Eudora/Thunderbird/Mac/iPad/Phone Client General Settings

The following instructions are for the general setup of numerous email clients, and they may or may not work with every email client. Third-party email clients, such as Outlook, Eudora, and iPad, should use the following configuration settings.

Make careful to substitute yourdomain.com with your actual domain name when using the example below.

Your/Display name: anything you want
Email address: enter the full address ([email protected])

Type of connection: POP3 or IMAP (what is the difference ?)

Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail server does require authentication.

Incoming mail port: 110 for POP3, 143 for IMAP
Outgoing mail port: 25 (If 25 does not work, try 26, as some ISPs block port 25)

Note: For Comcast/Xfinity Internet customers, port 587 is available for use as ports 25 and 26 are blocked on their network.
No SSL boxes should be checked*

Username/Account name: must be the full email address ([email protected]). Sometimes this setting won’t work until you replace the @ with a + in the username.

Password: the email password. Do NOT use SPA (secure password authentication).

Third Party Email Client Features

While Wesbytes can help with configuration and basic troubleshooting for third-party email systems, the amount of help we can provide beyond that is limited. As a result, we are not responsible for the functionality or features of third-party email applications, such as contacts, calendars, and so on.

Furthermore, for sophisticated choices or settings, it is recommended that you contact the creating party for your email client of choice.
